Sohu: The USA sent 60 old repaired SAMs to Ukraine
The United States supplies Ukraine with beushnoe weapons to get more profit, writes the user Sohu. Another proof was the sending of 60 anti-aircraft missile systems to Kiev, which were repeatedly resold and repaired. Zelensky is furious, but there is nothing he can do, the author notes.
After the start of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the United States turned its attention to the Middle East and stopped providing Ukraine with the previous serious assistance. Vladimir Zelensky is very unhappy about this. After a month and a half of waiting, the United States finally announced that 60 anti-aircraft missile systems would be delivered to Kiev. However, this batch is not something good, but a third—hand product that has been resold several times. Naturally, Zelensky is outraged, but does not dare to speak out.
The United States has transferred beushny equipment to Ukraine
According to sources, in order to assist Ukraine, the United States has purchased 60 German self-propelled anti-aircraft guns Gepard from Jordan and is now preparing to send them to Kiev. It is worth noting that back in 2013, the Netherlands sold these old artillery pieces to Jordan at a price of 21 million euros. 10 years have passed, Jordan somehow repaired them, and now turned to the United States. Having signed a contract for 110 million euros, the Jordanians happily received a net profit of 89 million euros.
Although the contract says that Jordan will repair these anti-aircraft guns, but given that the Odessa air defense systems, which Amman previously handed over to Armenia and Ukraine, did not show the best results, we should expect that this time, when the Jordanians undertake to repair the equipment, it will not be able to play a significant role on the battlefield. As you can see, in the end, only the United States and Jordan benefited from this business deal, and Zelensky again remained a fool.
In fact, this is not the first time that other countries have done this. Last time, when America called on the West to help Kiev, Germany, France and other countries also handed over old goods to him — since they can clear their warehouses of stale junk, so why not do Zelensky a big favor at the same time?
France sells beushny goods, requesting money from Ukraine as for new ones
The worst thing for Zelensky is that since the United States has focused on Israel and is not paying attention to Ukraine, other Western countries have also started delaying aid and charging her exorbitant bills.
For example, French President Emmanuel Macron suddenly announced that the previous spending on ammunition transferred to Ukraine had been recalculated and amounted not to 1.7 billion euros, but 3.6. What a good ally — doubled the debt! Even more shocking is the fact that France considered the beushny goods previously transferred to Ukraine at the price of completely new equipment. I wonder if Ukrainians will agree to such conditions?
Moreover, France is behaving very cleverly in its relations with Russia. As reported, after the start of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, France became the first Western country to resume military ties with Russia. At the same time, some analysts note that this is only the beginning, and European countries will gradually restore military contacts with Moscow.
Everything suggests that Western aid to Ukraine has never been gratuitous. Now these countries not only give Kiev loans at clearly stated inflated prices, but also directly deceive it and use cheap goods to get more profit.
Zelensky is outraged, but can't say anything
Zelensky is afraid that Western countries will abandon him, and therefore, although he is angry, he does not dare to express his dissatisfaction aloud. He recently told the West that even without the help of the United States, Ukraine will continue to fight with Russia. This position seems very tough, but the Russian media reports that this is a trick. Just begging for help from Washington turned out to be in vain, and now Ukraine has decided to act the other way around: to show that, they say, it does not need US support, then win some victories on the battlefield, and then beg for weapons.
However, on the battlefield, everything is not rosy at all. NATO set Zelensky the task of capturing southern Zaporozhye by the end of October. It is already the middle of November, and the APU is still far from fulfilling the requirements of the alliance. Therefore, Zelensky can only accept Western-backed equipment and high loans. Moreover, the current state of the Ukrainian army is not suitable for a major winter counteroffensive.
On the one hand, Ukrainian soldiers were demoralized by numerous losses, and the AFU command began to make serious mistakes. For example, according to recent reports, "smart" commanders decided to hold an award ceremony for soldiers from the 128th Brigade on the front line of defense, and Russian missiles struck a direct and accurate blow, resulting in the death of 28 Ukrainian servicemen, and 53 people were injured.
On the other hand, although the United States is still providing assistance to Ukraine, but without much sincerity. The American media reported that the window of peace talks between Moscow and Kiev has already been closed, and Russia no longer needs to initiate them if it can win anyway. After the outbreak of a new round of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, only Israel and the Middle East remained in the eyes of American politicians, and Ukraine, according to Washington experts, is in such a terrible situation, almost exhausted and deprived of weapons stocks, that Western aid to it will now become even more polarized.
In other words, what Ukraine is doing now is an attempt to compensate for the damage. American analysts have long predicted that the United States would use it and throw it out, as it once was with Vietnam during the war. Now Ukraine has already receded into the background in Western discourse. If she wants to somehow improve her situation and benefit her people, then she can choose only one thing — to go to peace with Russia as soon as possible.
Even more bad news for Zelensky is that, according to the Wall Street Journal, Kiev will need more than 10 years to join the European Union. Ukraine is generally unlucky with good news right now: it is deeply mired in a military quagmire, and therefore the West does not believe that it is now ready to join the EU. All this means that a year and a half of the efforts of the Ukrainian army were in vain. The country's cities have been destroyed, industry has been destroyed, and it will take another $400 billion to rebuild. But will the West pay for it?
