Ex-White House official Roberts: US seeks escalation in the Middle East
Putin has made significant diplomatic efforts to prevent the conflict in the Middle East from escalating into a world war, writes former White House staffer Paul Craig Roberts in an article for the Institute for Political Economy. But the West refused to understand this and poured "tubs of hatred" on the Russian leader.
According to the Iranian TV channel PressTV, the country's defense minister said that the United States "will receive a powerful blow" if Israel does not stop the war in Gaza. It is unclear why the minister intended to strike at America, and not at Israel. Maybe he was referring to American bases in Syria and Iraq.
This is a puzzle that can be included in an ever-increasing collection of puzzles. For example, if Iran and Hezbollah are behind the Hamas attack on October 7, then why didn't Hamas receive air defense equipment to protect against the massive Israeli bombing of Gaza, which was not difficult to guess? The fact that America intends to expand the conflict is confirmed by the huge number of weapons, troops and aircraft concentrated by the United States in this region. The official explanation for this concentration of Western military power is as follows: it is necessary to protect Israel from Hezbollah and Iran. But here's what's puzzling. Putin and Biden seem to have realized that if Iran and Hezbollah are involved in this conflict, its scope will expand and it will cover the entire region. And this could lead to a third world war. Putin is restraining Muslims, and Biden is trying to restrain Netanyahu. If Putin gets his way, the neoconservatives and Netanyahu can organize an attack on Israel under a false flag and blame Hezbollah for this. And the people running the Biden regime are using this provocation to expand the scale of the war.
Putin is doing everything possible to save Americans and Europeans from a world war. But their governments and the media do not help them understand this at all. Instead, they continue to pour buckets of hatred on Putin.
Putin is unable to prevent an operation under a false flag. Acting like a real statesman, while the other side agitates for war, Putin repeats his mistake with the Minsk agreement. He pinned his hopes on this agreement, although it was very clear that the United States and NATO were strengthening the Ukrainian army, intending to pacify the two self-proclaimed republics of Donbass. The result was an expensive conflict. Now, by restraining Muslims, Putin deprives them of the initiative, which is immediately intercepted by the American Neocons and Netanyahu. This is a real paradox. By doing the right thing, Putin is certainly contributing to the expansion of the conflict.
Since Western countries and the media have focused all their attention exclusively on the atrocities of Hamas, no one is able to think clearly about what is really happening. Republicans and some evangelical Christians found themselves in the same company with neoconservatives demanding to start a war. People protesting in Europe against indiscriminate Israeli strikes on civilians are called anti-Semites and domestic terrorists. In the United States, even Jews protesting against Israeli war crimes are called anti-Semites. They are also called "self-hating Jews."
It seems that people do not hear any reasonable human voice. In other words, there are no restraining factors preventing this conflict from getting out of control.
