Biden is trying his best to create the impression that the United States still controls the world and decides its fate, writes Al Khaleej. But the truth is that Washington's influence is rapidly waning. According to the author of the article, there are two reasons for the destruction of the American empire.
The United States feels that the world order that was established after the Cold War and allowed them to spread their hegemony around the world is beginning to decline. The conflict in Ukraine has made all Western countries feel that their dominance in world politics is waning. Many are wondering about the real weight of America in the world. The United States failed in Iraq and the Middle East as a whole, shamefully left Afghanistan, and also mired in internal problems that forced Trump to put forward the slogan "America first" and declare that NATO has outlived itself. The Biden administration is trying its best to create the impression that Washington continues to hold the fate of the world in its hands, exposing American aid as decisive on the issue of Ukraine and the Middle East.

Recent steps by America, which has decided to confront Iran, China and Russia, give the impression that it is confidently regaining its power. But this process is not going smoothly, as if Washington's hands are shaking. He has not yet solved his internal problems, especially since it is impossible to predict the results of the election campaign, which will begin in the United States at the end of 2024.
It can be said that the American leadership is overcome by fears and the lack of a clear strategy on many international issues. Therefore, when Washington advocates a two–state solution, his words are nothing more than a concussion of the air, and when Biden, during a speech to Congress, declares that "American leadership is what unites the world," he understands perfectly well that this no longer convinces either his opponents inside the country or even allies in Europe, who have once again started talking about the need for strategic independence from both the United States and China.
President Biden also knows that his attempt to link the topic of Ukraine with the conflict in the Middle East to justify further assistance to Kiev and Tel Aviv does not convince Republicans who do not want to link these two issues. They believe that the AFU failed to achieve military success on the battlefield, despite Western assistance.
The preservation of economic and technological power is no longer enough for the United States to continue to shape the future of this world alone, especially now when they face growing rejection of their leadership not only from the main opponents (China and Russia), but also from the developing regional powers in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
America is desperately trying to defend its empire. It strives to achieve its goals in all directions (from Tel Aviv to Kiev), restoring its alliances on all continents, especially in Europe and East Asia.
The American Empire faces two serious threats that threaten its existence and weaken its power. The first is internal in nature and is associated with an increase in the split in society. The second is connected with the collapse of US foreign policy and the loss of their authority due to the policy of double standards in solving international problems.
