The head of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine spoke about smart mobilization
The Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov said that "smart mobilization" will be launched in the country - conscripts will be able to choose their own unit and military specialty for future service. The new system will complement the traditional order of recruitment of the armed forces through military enlistment offices. Conscripts will be able to apply a new method of entering the service voluntarily. The pilot project will be launched "in a month or two".
In Ukraine, a "smart mobilization" will be launched, which implies an independent choice by a conscript of a unit and a military specialty for future service. This was stated in an interview with RBC-Ukraine by Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology - Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov.
The pilot project, the official promises, will work "in a month or two."
It is assumed that a person will be able to independently, without receiving a summons, apply for a certain specialty, pass recruiters, tests and training.
"And then he will definitely be able to get into the drone company for the position for which he mobilized himself," writes "Страна.иа ".
The new system will show the motivation of conscripts
At the same time, the procedure will take place outside the military enlistment offices (now they are called territorial recruitment and social support bodies in Ukraine).
Fedorov expects that after the launch of the project, it will be possible to see how many Ukrainians want to mobilize on their own, how they will be selected, how they will serve after that and how motivated they will be.
General mobilization continues in Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced a general mobilization on February 24, 2022. In August, the period of its holding (as well as martial law) was extended for the eighth time by 90 days - until November 15.
The mobilization concerns men from 18 to 60 years old who, for health reasons, can serve in the military. They are banned from leaving the country.
Soon, the Verkhovna Rada will consider a bill allowing military-bound "paid" departure from the country. According to the document, when traveling abroad, a man will have to open an account in a state bank with a minimum contribution of 12,945 hryvnia (33 thousand rubles) and replenish it every month during departure for 1,306 hryvnia (3.3 thousand rubles). It is assumed that the bank will be able to transfer contributions to the APU account. Those who return from abroad and have no grounds for postponement will have to pay 25,890 hryvnia (66 thousand rubles) for each month of stay abroad during martial law.
Representatives of the Ukrainian authorities publicly say that there are no intentions to increase the volume of conscription.
"We are doing everything not to increase the pace of mobilization, but you understand yourself, everything depends on the aggressor and the front," Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Pavlyuk said in a comment to the We are Ukraine channel.
However, Sergei Rakhmanin, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, believes that mobilization will be strengthened.
