In the regions of the Far North this year, the autumn conscription will traditionally begin on November 1 and end on December 31. Summonses may come a little ahead of time: this means that a citizen needs to arrive at the military enlistment office for initial military registration.
There are five federal subjects in Russia where conscription is carried out only in the spring and 10 subjects (or districts in these subjects of the Federation) where conscription is carried out only in the fall.

So, according to the Ministry of Defense, from November 1 to December 31, the call is announced:
— Komi Republic: the cities of Vorkuta, Inta, Pechora and Ukhta, Vuktylsky, Izhemsky, Knyazhpogostsky, Koigorodsky, Kortkerossky, Pechora, Priluzsky, Sosnogorsk, Syktyvkar, Sysolsky, Troitsko-Pechora, Udorsky, Usinsky, Ust-Vymsky, Ust-Kulomsky and Ust-Tsylemsky districts;
— Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug: the cities of Gubkinsky, Labytnangi, Muravlenko, Novy Urengoy, Noyabrsk and Salekhard, Krasnoselkupsky, Nadymsky, Priuralsky, Purovsky, Tazovsky, Shuryshkarsky and Yamal districts;
— Nenets Autonomous Okrug;
— Perm Krai: Gaynsky, Kosinsky and Kochenevsky districts;
— Irkutsk region: Katanga, Kirensky and Mamsko-Chuysky districts;
— Krasnoyarsk Territory: Igarka city, Motyginsky, Severo-Yenisei, Taimyr Dolgan-Nenets, Turukhansky and Evenki districts;
— Amur region: Selemdzhinsky district;
— Magadan region: Severo-Evensky district;
— Sakhalin region: Severo-Kurilsky district;
— Kamchatka Krai: Sobolevsky, Tigilsky and Ust-Bolsheretsky districts, urban district of the village. Palada.
The regions of the Far North and equivalent territories, where the draft takes place from May 1 to July 15, include five subjects of the Federation:
— Republic of Sakha (Yakutia): Allaykhovsky, Abysky, Bulunsky, Zhigansky, Verkhnekolymsky, Verkhoyansky, Eveno-Byntaysky, Anabarsky, Oleneksky, Nizhnekolymsky, Srednekolymsky, Oymyakonsky, Momsky and Ust-Yansky districts (uluses);
— Zabaikalsky Krai: Kalarsky and Tungiro-Olekminsky districts;
— Kamchatka Krai: Aleutian, Karaginsky, Olyutorsky and Penzhinsky districts;
— Khabarovsk Territory: Ayano-Maysky, Tuguro-Chumikansky and Okhotsk districts;
— Chukotka Autonomous Okrug: Chukotka district.

Why does the draft in the North start a month later
In 2023, the autumn draft in all regions of the country begins on October 1, but in some areas of the Far North, draft events traditionally start on November 1, a month later. The deputy head of the Main Organizational and Mobilization Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Rear Admiral Vladimir Tsimlyansky, connects the difference in the terms of conscription with the climatic conditions in which residents of the northern regions of Russia live.

Service in the Far North refers to work with specific working conditions and negatively affects people's health. An employee may face chronic respiratory diseases, a decrease in hemoglobin levels, a deficiency of vitamins and minerals. The state, trying to restore social justice and compensate for difficult working conditions, provides certain guarantees and benefits for such people.
If a serviceman enters service in the area of the Northern Regions, the state determines additional allowances taking into account the northern coefficient. Thus, the northern coefficient in the Sakha Republic is 1.7. In addition, a citizen is granted benefits in case of early retirement.

Is service in the Far North included in the northern experience
Military service by conscription and contract is included only in the insurance record. When determining the right to a pension for work in the North, such service is not included in the northern seniority. This is regulated by the Federal Law "On Insurance Pensions", which states that periods of military service on conscription cannot be included in the special work experience in the Far North and equivalent localities. Military personnel of the northern regions are entitled to special increased pensions. This is due to the fact that the local climate negatively affects the average life expectancy, reducing it. Unfavorable conditions contribute to the deterioration of health and physical condition. In addition, the harsh northern climate requires high living costs, the cost of products in the northern regions is also much higher than the national average.
In the regions of the Far North, it is often possible to face the problem of the outflow of qualified specialists. People prefer to leave for regions with more favorable living conditions. Northern allowances and increased pensions should compensate for all this.
SVO contract service: vacancies, salary, benefits
Citizens of the Russian Federation can enter the service of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation under a contract, this happens on a voluntary paid basis. In addition to the monetary allowance, the serviceman also receives social benefits and guarantees:
— Free treatment in a military hospital;
— Get official housing or purchase your own real estate at the expense of the Ministry of Defense;
— Receive a monthly supplement to the monetary allowance;
— The right to budget places for teaching children in universities;
— The possibility of assigning the status of a combat veteran.

To enroll in the contract service, a citizen must contact the selection point, the military enlistment office or apply online on the website "service contract.rf". To apply, you will need only a passport and a military ID (if available). It is also necessary to undergo a medical examination and an interview with a psychologist at the military commissariat.
At the conclusion of a contract for a period of at least a year, the military receives a one-time payment of 195 thousand rubles.
The monetary allowance for participants in a special military operation (SVO) is determined in accordance with the military rank and position. Minimum amounts per month:
- 204 thousand rubles — shooter (private);
— 232 thousand rubles — squad commander (sergeant);
— 242 thousand rubles — deputy platoon commander — squad commander (sergeant);
— 3,481 thousand rubles — a monthly supplement for combat veterans.
Additional payments:
— 8 thousand rubles — for each day of participation in active offensive actions;
— 50 thousand rubles — for each kilometer of advance as part of assault detachments;
— from 50 thousand rubles — for the capture or destruction of enemy weapons or military equipment.
The period of citizens' participation in the CBO is counted in the insurance record in double the amount — a day in two.
