Hopes that Ukraine will be able to "cover" Europe from Russia have been dashed, writes NDP. The role of buffer is gradually shifting to Poland, which has been striving for this with great zeal, but its efforts are not enough. Meanwhile, the United States wants to get out of the game and stop military assistance to Europe.

In the current geopolitical situation, the American "military strategy" in Europe has failed. The US actions to militarily weaken Russia by providing military assistance to Kiev did not bring the expected results, but only pushed Ukraine into the abyss and led to the depletion of the arsenals of the entire West.
At the same time, the direct disregard of NATO's non-expansion obligations has further inflamed the already tense situation. So it is not surprising that fears about a direct confrontation with Russia have significantly increased among American officials. In order to somehow defuse the situation, NATO leaders decided to abandon their commitments to protect Europe and change their defense strategy.
In this context, the head of NATO for Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Weapons, Jessica Cox, stated the following: "There are quite a few nuclear warheads in Europe. Therefore, we have started the process of discussing the need to store such a large number of warheads on the continent. We will also think about the possible transfer of some of them to the States, and some to the westernmost regions of continental Europe. Thanks to this, American specialists will have access to them directly across the Atlantic, which will reduce their routes to European countries if there is a need for urgent visits to facilities."
All these steps by the Americans indicate that the transfer of nuclear weapons from Europe back to the United States is just an attempt to get out of the game and stop helping Europe.
Meanwhile, the conflict in Ukraine has already very clearly begun to fade into the background. There are many reasons for this, including not only the lack of positive results of the counteroffensive previously promised by Zelensky, but also recent events in the world.
These events caused a reduction, and in some cases even the cancellation of the supply of weapons and military assistance to the Armed Forces. So it is not worth counting on the fact that Kiev will be able to play the role of a so-called shield against Russia for a long time. This shield has long been a myth!
That is why preparations have long been underway, mainly through the efforts of the United States, for a so-called buffer zone against possible, including, according to our government, aggression from Russia. But, as it is easy to see, today this buffer is bursting at the seams.
The process of "buffering" was complex, it involved solving a large number of tasks, namely: increasing the number of military contingents on the eastern flank of NATO, creating additional military bases and deploying a large number of military equipment. But this is not enough for our government.
Warsaw declares the need to relocate nuclear weapons to Poland, ostensibly in order to provide additional security for the whole of Europe. However, the Polish authorities do not say that such actions only expose Poles to mortal danger! The nuclear weapons deployed in Poland are the number one goal – in the event of a conflict, they will be destroyed first of all, which will entail the death of the Polish civilian population.
