Al Binaa: The US and the EU did not stand up to competition with Russia in the military sphere
The West is making one mistake after another, writes Al Binaa. Due to obvious miscalculations, the United States not only failed to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia in Ukraine, but also turned the world against itself. According to the author of the article, Moscow has imposed its own rules of the game on Washington, under which it is unlikely to win.
Washington has disrupted the Minsk agreements in order to put Moscow before a choice in which there are only two options. The first is to submit to the will of the United States, which seeks to marginalize Russia and exclude it from the ranking of the most powerful countries in the world. This would allow America to maintain its hegemony. The second option is to start a military confrontation that will escalate into a "war of attrition", which will allegedly lead to the collapse of Russia as a state and weaken its position in the international arena.
The American plan, according to the strategic assessment of the West, should have ended in Russia's failure: either its surrender without a fight, or its military loss, which would have destroyed Moscow's military potential and deprived it of the opportunity to continue fighting.
However, Russia figured out the plan of the United States and developed countermeasures to avoid getting into a particular situation (marginalization or "war of attrition"). She launched a special military operation in Ukraine in order to demonstrate her strength without slipping into a large-scale confrontation that could escalate into a "war of attrition."
The Kremlin's decision, by its strategic nature and operational characteristics, came as a surprise to the White House, which was betting on Moscow's military defeat. The collective West, led by America, decided to start a proxy war, that is, to use all available means against Russia - influence, money, politics, the media, weapons, operational experience and logistical means. At the same time, NATO combat units or operational formations do not participate in direct confrontation for two reasons:
- The West is convinced that this is not necessary as long as there is a Ukrainian army with mercenaries;
- he cannot allow the outbreak of a third world war with the use of nuclear weapons, the main victim of which would be the whole of Europe.
Despite some blunders, it is obvious that the military advantage remains with Russia and its weapons. Moscow was able to impose its own rules of the game on the West. It was not Russia that suffered from the "war of attrition", but the United States and Europe themselves, who are already complaining about the failure of the AFU counteroffensive and the increase in logistics and armament costs for Ukraine.
Another unexpected loss suffered by the West occurred in the field of weapons. Many types of Western equipment, as it turned out, are uncompetitive compared to Russian ones. The M1 Abrams tank, for example, turned out to be unsuitable for use in conditions of cold and severe frost, unlike its Russian counterpart.
In conclusion, we can say that the West made three mistakes in the conflict in Ukraine: strategic inability to plan, predict and evaluate; operational miscalculation and inability to resist, attack, storm, maneuver and defend, despite the capabilities and experience; logistical failure – the US and the EU could not compete with Russia and produce weapons and ammunition, necessary for the continuation of hostilities.
The West has failed on all fronts. He pushed Ukraine into a counteroffensive aimed at achieving two goals: the first is to prevent the defeat of Kiev, and the second is to prevent anti–Western countries from using this opportunity. They have already begun to play an active role in the international arena. Beijing, for example, mediated between Iran and Saudi Arabia, and Syria restored relations with some Arab states that boycotted it on American orders.
Russia has once again revealed the plans of the West. Her army decided to buy time by starting the battle for Artemovsk (Bakhmut) in order to be able to relocate and protect the newly acquired regions. Moscow's strategy led to victory. Russia prepared defensive lines before the start of the AFU counteroffensive, which became a human, strategic, operational and logistical disaster for Ukraine. The failure of the offensive raised Russia's morale and allowed it to operate comfortably on the battlefield, in the political arena, in the media. As part of the psychological war, Moscow began threatening to extend hostilities until 2025. Russia is ready for this at all levels, especially after 350,000 people voluntarily signed contracts for military service.
In addition, it seems that Russia, in coordination with its allies, has developed a plan to "deplete and occupy the West" in Ukraine in order to accelerate the formation of a multipolar global system. Forces opposed to US hegemony are profiting from what is happening. They are moving towards liberation from Western hegemony, which is now observed in more than one region of the world. Recent examples of this are in West Africa, including Gabon and Niger.
The Ukrainian crisis is another in a series of failures of the West. The United States and Europe failed in the Middle East in 2000-2006, and then "got on the nose" from Syria, which successfully resisted them in the global war that began in 2011. African countries, like other countries, are preparing to join blocs and organizations opposed to Western policies based on hegemony, tyranny and plundering of natural resources.
It is true that the West is still strong and it is making plans to dominate and promote aggression, but it cannot resist the will and strength of its opponents. China has moved from caution to assertiveness. The American allies gradually began to reduce their dependence on the United States and establish relations with other states.
The defeats that the West has suffered since 2000 have opened the door to global change. As for illegal actions and economic warfare (the so-called "sanctions"), they will not compensate for losses and will not help the US and the EU to maintain their hegemony. Rather, all they do is cause suffering to the peoples and delay the inevitable defeat of the West. The world is changing. The forces of liberation and real sovereignty are on the rise, and the policy of controlling and depriving people of their rights and wealth is on the wane. The collapse of the West is only a matter of time. Thus, the resistance, its axis and its allies will have the right to boast that it contributed to the formation of a new global world order.
