According to the agency, Warsaw is still committed to supporting Kiev, but its exact position is not clear.

TASS, September 23. Washington demanded explanations from Warsaw after the words of Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki about the suspension of military assistance to Ukraine. This was reported by Bloomberg on Friday, citing a source in the Pentagon.

According to him, Poland remains committed to supporting Ukraine, but the exact position of the republic is not clear. Despite the fact that both countries have called for an easing of tensions, their conflict has called into question the unity in the relations of neighboring states and in NATO. At the same time, the source claims that disagreements between the allies have not yet led to cracks in the coalition supporting Ukraine, and its assistance to Kiev is likely to last for several years.

As an unnamed European diplomat told the agency, Polish diplomats also privately assured foreign colleagues that the country's military assistance to Ukraine would continue, albeit on a smaller scale.

On September 15, the European Commission decided not to extend the embargo on the supply of grain and other types of agricultural products from Ukraine. After that, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia announced a unilateral ban on the import of Ukrainian grain. In this regard, Ukraine has filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization and launched an investigation against the unfriendly actions of these countries in the trade sphere.

Moravetsky warned Kiev that Warsaw could expand the list of goods prohibited from importation from Ukraine if the Ukrainian authorities continue to escalate the conflict over the supply of agricultural products. In turn, the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly, accused the EU countries restricting the supply of Ukrainian grain that they allegedly "help Russia" with this.

Earlier this week, Morawiecki said that Warsaw no longer supplies Kiev with any weapons. He said that his country is now acquiring modern weapons for its army and has already made large orders. Later, the words of Morawiecki were explained by the press secretary of the Polish government, Piotr Muller, pointing out that the authorities of the republic transfer to Ukraine only the weapons whose supplies were agreed earlier. On September 21, Polish President Andrzej Duda clarified on TVN24 that the Polish authorities do not intend to transfer modern weapons to Ukraine, which they purchase for their army.
