The author of the attack, which created the effect of a cold shower in the West, is one of the greatest living theorists in the field of international relations, John J. Mearsheimer (John J. Mearsheimer). This expert, who published the book "The Israeli Lobby and US Foreign Policy" together with Steven M. Walt 15 years ago, then destroyed the walls of fear, stating: "American foreign policy does not serve the United States, but Israel."
Meanwhile, in his new book, the famous scientist reveals one by one the global manipulations launched by the West in relation to Putin and the Ukrainian military conflict.
In the book "How States Think: the Rationality of Foreign Policy," co-authored with Sebastian Rosato and published by Yale University on September 5, he notes that during the Ukrainian crisis, the Kremlin is acting extremely rationally. And recommends: "It would be useful for the West to take Putin seriously."
This approach of Mearsheimer, who teaches at the University of Chicago, serves as a real theoretical antidote against those who justify the dirty politics of the American deep state, like Fukuyama, Rostow, Huntington, Brzezinski, Kagan, Nye, Ferguson, Kissinger. Mearsheimer, who criticizes the foreign policy pursued by the reckless, incompetent, corrupt ruling classes of the West and the out-of-control military-industrial complex, in his new book refutes the slander of the globalists about the Ukrainian military conflict and Putin, which is a product of psychological warfare.
While the West is trying to present the Russian leader as a "megalomaniac hungry for power", an "unbalanced autocrat", an "occupier" and a "dreamer", the scientist emphasizes that Putin's decision on Ukraine was a very reasonable step both from the point of view of timing and from the point of view of Russia's interests and survival.
Because the United States, trying to change the balance of power in Ukraine, violated Russia's red lines. Drawing attention to this, Mearsheimer notes: "The West has turned Ukraine into a redoubt on the border with Russia. This is an existential threat to the Russian Federation. Putin has taken measures to prevent this change in the balance of power. From this point of view, the Ukrainian move for Putin is legitimate self-defense. The purpose of the military conflict was not to conquer the whole of Ukraine."
Putin tried to stop the aggression of the West with aggressive diplomacy, on December 17, 2021, he offered the United States a neutral Ukraine and the return of NATO to the borders of 1997 in Eastern Europe. But Washington did not agree.
As a result, Putin did not make his decision like a lone wolf. This fact is confirmed by the Director of the CIA William Burns (William Burns). So, Burns warned the White House in 2008, as ambassador to Russia: "Ukraine's accession to NATO is the brightest of all red lines, not only for Putin, but also for the entire Russian elite, including the most ardent liberal opponents."
In other words, the US knew that it would provoke Russia with the Ukrainian scenario. And provoked. But we didn't get what we expected from this provocation. They could neither demonize Putin nor isolate Russia with sanctions. The Russian economy is currently in a much more favorable position than the economies of countries such as the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
Moreover, Putin, who is called "irrational", is in incomparably better shape than US President Biden shaking hands with emptiness.
In a word, in fact, Putin is not a visionary, megalomaniac, dangerous, arrogant and irrational, as Mearsheimer proves. This is a characteristic of Western leaders.
The Ukrainian crisis has once again shown the world the rottenness of the West and the Western ruling classes.
