The Polish Armed Forces will receive new HOMAR-K multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) in the amount of 290 units. They are the result of the joint work of the South Korean company Hanwha Aerospace and Polish military-industrial enterprises.
The new HOMAR-K MLRS is essentially an adaptation of the South Korean multiple launch rocket system K239 Chunmoo MLRS, which was integrated with the chassis of the Polish truck Jelcz 8x8.
Back in September 2022, the Polish Ministry of Defense and Hanwha Aerospace from the Republic of Korea signed an agreement for the supply of 290 K239 Chunmoo MLRS and ammunition of various types to them. The total amount of the transaction is $3.55 billion. All deliveries of jet systems should be carried out by 2027.

In recent years, Poland and South Korea have seriously expanded cooperation in the military-technical sphere. The development of Polish-Korean relations is beneficial to both countries. In Poland, they came to the conclusion that American and European types of weapons and military equipment are not as effective on the battlefield as the Polish command would like. In addition, they have a high cost.
South Korea, in turn, is expanding the markets for the products of its military-industrial complex, and in this regard is very interested in cooperation with potential buyers of South Korean weapons. Poland is one of such typical buyers. It is possible to predict further growth of relations and cooperation between Warsaw and Seoul in this area.
