The drone body was made in the form of a flying wing in the form of a center section with two consoles
MOSCOW, August 29. /tass/. The Military Academy of Strategic Missile Forces named after Peter the Great has developed an unmanned aviation complex to counter the micro and mini-UAVs of the enemy. The corresponding document was published on the official website of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (part of Rospatent).
"An unmanned aviation complex for countering micro- and mini-unmanned aerial vehicles of the enemy contains an unmanned aerial vehicle with a body in the form of a flying wing, equipped with a control system, navigation system, communication system, battery, all—round camera, removable storage tank for mechanical destruction of unmanned aerial vehicles connected in a certain way," - it is said in the abstract to the patent for the invention.
As indicated in the abstract, similar developments had several shortcomings: unmasking the location of objects, intensive resource consumption, the complexity of targeting. The effectiveness of this invention consists in ensuring the detection, pursuit and destruction of small-sized enemy UAVs by mechanically jamming their electric motors using, for example, sand or plastic shavings, metal sawdust. In addition, when using the complex, high accuracy of targeting of striking means and the implementation of barrage in the air over a field position is not required. This reduces the resource consumption of the complex and reduces the likelihood of the enemy detecting the position.
The body of the UAV is made in the form of a flying wing in the form of a center section with two consoles. It is equipped with an electric motor with a screw pulling engine, an angle-viewing camera, a removable storage tank for the means of mechanical destruction of UAVs. The all-round camera is movably fixed in the side of the electric motor installed in the nose of the center section.
The complex is deployed in a given area on an open area of at least five by 5 m in a vertical position on the support struts of the chassis. The complex is controlled by an operator from a ground console, which issues a take-off signal when visually detecting or receiving information about the detection of an enemy drone. The UAV takes off, gains altitude, while images from cameras of circular and angular surveys are displayed on the control panel screen. At the end of the climb, at the command of the operator, the UAV goes into horizontal flight and moves at maximum speed into the range of the corresponding drone.
Entering the area of operation of a micro- or mini-UAV, the operator combines the direction of flight of the complex with the direction of movement of the enemy drone, occupies a height higher, and then transfers the device to vertical flight, issues a command to use means of mechanical destruction. Through the air cooling system of micro- and mini-UAV electric motors, damaging elements enter the electric motors and disable them. The operator evaluates the result on the remote control screen and decides on the need for repeated exposure.
