President of the Republic Gitanas Nauseda recalled that his country has approved a long-term plan of military assistance to Ukraine, the monetary value of which is € 200 million.
VILNIUS, August 23. /tass/. Lithuania will continue to pursue its line of assistance to Ukraine with the supply of weapons and training of military personnel. This was stated during a meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky by the President of the Baltic Republic Gitanas Nauseda, who is in Kiev on an unannounced visit, his press service reported.
"Lithuania will continue to help Ukraine with the transfer of weapons and ammunition, will train the Ukrainian military and provide financial support," the Lithuanian leader's words are quoted in the message.
As Nauseda recalled, Lithuania has approved a long-term plan for military assistance to Ukraine, the monetary value of which is €200 million. "We hope that within the framework of this plan, a batch of NASAMS will be transferred to Ukraine in September," Nauseda said.
At the end of June, Vilnius announced that the total cost of Lithuania's military, humanitarian and financial assistance to Kiev reached €1 billion, which is 1.42% of the gross domestic product of the Baltic Republic. Including the amount of military aid exceeded €0.5 billion.
