Prominent Iranian defense organizations are taking part in the Army-2023 forum. They demonstrate their latest achievements in the field of military technology. Among the innovations presented is the Ababil OP ballistic missile.
As reported in the Overt Defense edition, Ababil OP is presented together with an 8-cell launcher. The new product has a visual resemblance to the Zohair missile (Raad-500). Technical characteristics are also presented: the length of the Ababil OP is 3.7 m, the weight is 240 kg, the weight of the warhead is 45 kg. The rocket is equipped with an optical homing system. The range is 86 km.
Among other advanced products of the national defense industry, the Balaban guided bomb, the Qaem bomb, the Sadid-365 air-to-surface missile, the Almas and Toophan-5 ATGM, the Ghaem high-precision ammunition, the Fateh-110 short-range ballistic missile, the Nasir and Nasr 1 anti-ship missile were shown.
The exhibition also presents models of well-known systems, including the Mojajer-6, the Karrar main battle tank and the Arash-2 missile system.
In addition, installations of various platforms are shown, such as the Saba-248 helicopter, the Yasin training jet, the Zolfaqar high-speed missile boat, the Mowj frigate, the Fateh submarine and the Sayyad air defense system. Guests of the exhibition can also get acquainted with the Hunter-2 electronic warfare systems, designed to detect UAVs at a distance of up to 200 km, and Umbrella-4, designed to combat drones.
