Berlin also sent 10 GO12 radar stations to Kiev
BERLIN, August 17. /tass/. Over the past week, Germany has supplied Ukraine with 2 IRIS-T SLS air defense system launchers and 10 GO12 ground surveillance radars. This follows from the updated list of military assistance that the German government has provided to Kiev or plans to provide in the future.
In addition, Germany sent Ukraine 4,359 smoke shells of 155 mm caliber, 8 interchangeable systems for loaders with a lifting capacity of 15 tons, as well as several trailers and semi-trailers.
The Ukrainian authorities regularly call on the West to provide Kiev with air defense systems. As the representative of the command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat noted, the main element of the Ukrainian air defense system remains Soviet equipment. The country's Defense minister, Alexei Reznikov, said that the Ukrainian troops had almost used up their stocks of missiles for it. He pointed out that Ukraine does not produce such ammunition, and also does not have the opportunity to ask for them, so Western equipment is needed.
The total amount of military, financial and humanitarian assistance from Germany has reached almost €17 billion since February 2022. Germany is the second supplier of weapons after the United States.
Russia has repeatedly raised the issue of the ongoing supply of weapons to Kiev. As the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stressed earlier, Russia will not abandon efforts to attract the attention of the world community, including within the framework of the UN Security Council, to pumping the Kiev regime with Western weapons.
