MOSCOW, August 14. /tass/. The International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2023" will contribute to the creation of a safe and peaceful future. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Belarus Viktor Khrenin at the opening of the forum at the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center.
"I am confident that the international military-technical forum will serve to develop interstate military and military-technical cooperation, will become a starting point for creating new and developing existing business contacts, and will also contribute to creating a safe and peaceful future," the minister said.
He stressed that "in the conditions of global instability and unprecedented pressure from the collective West on states pursuing their own sovereign and independent policies, the Army forum has become a symbol of the establishment and development of strategic partnership." "This large-scale international event allows us to jointly find ways to solve the most important problems in the field of ensuring national, regional and global security, taking into account the interests of all subjects of international relations," the minister said.
"One of the striking examples of such joint work is the strengthening of the defense capability of the Union State, which has become the result of mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthening of integration processes between enterprises of the Belarusian and Russian defense industrial complexes," Khrenin said.

Within the framework of the forum, the chairman of the State Military-Industrial Committee (Goskomvoenprom) of Belarus Dmitry Pantus met with the General Director of the Almaz-Antey Aerospace Defense Concern Yan Novikov. "The parties discussed the current state and prospects for further cooperation. A number of agreements were signed with the Russian company during the meeting of [representatives of the Belarusian] JSC "KB Radar" and JSC "2566 plant for the repair of electronic weapons", the State Military Industry reported.
Pantus also held talks with Major General Fan Jianjun, Head of the Department of Cooperation on Armaments, Military Equipment and Technologies of the Main Directorate for the Development of Armaments and Military Equipment of the Central Military Council of the People's Republic of China. "During the meeting, the parties discussed current projects, outlined promising areas of cooperation, and also noted mutual interest in further developing cooperation in a wide range of areas," the State Military Industry Committee of Belarus informed.
The International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2023" takes place from August 14 to 20 at the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center, at the Alabino training ground and Kubinka airfield. About 1.5 thousand leading Russian defense industry enterprises will take part in the exposition and business program. The organizer of the forum is the Ministry of Defense of Russia.
