Samara enterprise ODK-Kuznetsov (part of the United Engine Corporation of Rostec State Corporation) and Samara State Technical University summed up the results of the second admission campaign to recruit applicants for the targeted training program "Engineering Start" for the training of process engineers in the field of engine building. From the upcoming academic year, "target students" will be able to study in the new direction of "Metallurgy". Students will receive an increased scholarship, a specialized educational program and guaranteed employment in the UEC-Kuznetsov.
Contracts for targeted training were signed by 20 applicants, of whom 13 "target students" will be trained in the areas of "Mechanical Engineering" and "Design and technological support of machine-building industries". For the first time, within the framework of the "Engineering Start", a set of future engineers-technologists of metallurgical production in the direction of "Metallurgy" took place. 7 students will study there.
Applicants who scored at least 180 points in total according to the results of passing the Unified State Exam in three subjects – Russian language, mathematics and physics were allowed to participate in the competition for training within the framework of the Engineering Start project.
"In order to create promising products and manufacture serial products, UEC-Kuznetsov is interested in highly qualified personnel who possess technological design tools for working in a digital environment. Taking into account the modernization of production and the growth of the production program, we are ready to accept more than 80 process engineers annually. The educational program for future specialists has been developed taking into account modern professional standards and meets the trends in the industry," said Irina Denisova, HR Director of PJSC UEC-Kuznetsov.
Future technologists will receive an additional monthly scholarship from the UEC-Blacksmiths in the amount of 10 thousand rubles, subject to good and excellent academic performance at the university, they will undergo practical training at the plant. Students are guaranteed employment in the units of the UEC-Kuznetsov.
In 2021, UEC-Kuznetsov and Samara Polytechnic University approved a roadmap – an action plan for the interaction of the enterprise with the university. Within the framework of this agreement, research and development work is being carried out, students are being trained in the targeted training program "Engineering Start", practical training and internships, professional development of employees. Joint work with the university is focused on improving production processes, designing and modeling procurement processes. 15 students of the target direction under the "Engineering Start" program have already moved on to the second year.
