The Russian army destroyed most of the group prepared for the Ukrainian "counteroffensive"
Since June 4, when the so-called counteroffensive of the armed formations of Ukraine began, the Kiev regime has lost more than 43 thousand soldiers. More than 4,900 pieces of military equipment were destroyed in the battles, including 25 German Leopard tanks, seven French AMX wheeled tanks and 21 American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles. Experts note that in two months our troops eliminated most of the grouping that Ukraine was preparing with the help of Western countries.

— This indicator does not include wounded and foreign mercenaries evacuated to hospitals in Ukraine and abroad, as well as military personnel eliminated as a result of strikes with high—precision long-range weapons in the rear areas, - said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.
More than 4,900 units of various weapons of the VFU were destroyed on the line of contact. Including 26 aircraft, nine helicopters, 1,831 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, including 25 German Leopard tanks, seven French AMX wheeled tanks and 21 American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.

In addition, the enemy lost 747 field artillery and mortars, including 76 American M777 artillery systems, as well as 84 self-propelled guns from Poland, the USA, France and Germany.
These are very heavy losses, military expert Vasily Dandykin told Izvestia.
— Ukraine has prepared a group for an assault on the Zaporozhye direction, — he recalled. — It included about 60 thousand people. But this is taking into account, of course, everyone — mobilized, Terbatov and others. Based on the calculation that there are about 5 thousand in the brigade, the enemy lost about nine brigades. And this is not counting, most likely, the wounded, and there are even more of them. Also, losses in the depths of Ukrainian territory from missile and UAV strikes were hardly taken into account.
The expert also noted the heavy losses of the enemy in equipment.
— We only filled the "Leopards" with a battalion. The remnants of aviation rarely appear here, but we have also thinned it out," he concluded.
Let's go ahead
In the Donetsk, Yuzhnodonetsky and Kupyansk directions, Russian troops successfully repelled enemy attacks, as well as conducted offensive actions, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on August 4.
— In the Kupyansk direction, the assault detachments of the Western Group of troops continue offensive operations on a wide front and have taken more advantageous positions in the areas of the settlements of Olshana, Petropavlovsk and Tokarevka, Kharkiv region, — said Igor Konashenkov.

Four attacks of units of the 14th mechanized and 25th Airborne brigades of the VFU in the Novoselovsky district in the LPR were successfully repelled.
In the Donetsk direction, the units of the Southern Group repelled eight enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Belogorovka, Disputable, Veseloye, Staromikhailovka, Paraskovievka and Pervomaiske in the DPR. Having repulsed the attacks, the Russian troops counterattacked, taking more advantageous positions in the areas of the settlements of Belogorovka and Vodiane in the DPR.
In the South Donets direction, the assault detachments of the Vostok group of troops continued their offensive in the Staromayorsky area in the DPR, improving the tactical situation.
In these areas, the VFU lost more than 300 militants and 25 pieces of equipment, including the US-made M777 artillery system, as well as the US-made M109 "Paladin" and "Krab" self-propelled artillery units (Poland).
Strong defense
The VFU continued to attack unsuccessfully in the Zaporozhye and Krasnolimansk directions during the day.
The enemy's attack in the area of Workino was successfully repelled in the Zaporozhye direction. In addition, the manpower and equipment of the 33rd, 47th, 65th and 118th mechanized brigades of the VFU were defeated.

In the Krasnolimansky direction, the Center group of troops repulsed two enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Novovodyanoye and Kremennaya in the LPR.
In these areas, the VFU lost more than 200 militants and 16 pieces of equipment, including the American Bradley infantry fighting vehicle.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu inspected the control center of the Center group in the zone of the special operation, the military department reported on August 4.
He heard reports from the commander of the group, Lieutenant General Andrei Mordvichev, as well as staff officers on the situation and how combat missions are being carried out.
Sergei Shoigu thanked the command and personnel for conducting successful offensive operations in the Krasnolimansk direction. He drew particular attention to the need for effective preemptive fire on the positions of the VFU. This will save the lives and health of our servicemen.

The Minister inspected the captured Swedish infantry fighting vehicle CV-90. It failed after being hit by an RPG-7 hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher.
Lieutenant General Andrey Mordvichev stressed that the armored vehicles supplied by the West lack sets of spare parts, tools and accessories, so its prompt repair in the combat zone is impossible.
Another disadvantage of the Swedish armored vehicle is the low rate of fire. Ammunition is fed into the cannon with three magazines of eight shells, after which a recharge is required, which can last up to one minute.
"Hyacinth" will punish
Hyacinth's calculations are holding our infantry near Novodonetsk. Kirill Olkov, a military correspondent of Izvestia, visited the positions of the gunners of the 40th Guards Brigade of the Pacific Marine Corps.
According to the correspondent, the aim of our gunners is the enemy's nomadic self—propelled guns. Having received a combat mission, the calculation is moved to a firing position.
— We can work it out. Five shots to make, roll back, wait out and back. It's harder to hit a moving target. But it doesn't bother us. We hit them," said the military with the call sign Joker.
The gunners start firing. Our intelligence reports that the self-propelled artillery installation of the VFU has been destroyed.
After that, the calculation goes straight to the shelter so that the ACS could not hit back.
— We are conducting a counter-battery struggle here. Therefore, you need to move more, you can not stagnate constantly, the enemy is watching. If you stop, you can immediately fly in response. HIMARS are working actively," said the commander of the gun with the call sign Sulak.

The main task of the Russian Marines is to keep the defense on the border of the DPR and the Zaporozhye region, and also not to let the enemy into Novodonetsky, which the VFU tried to take several times.

On the night of August 4, Russian ships repelled an attack by two unmanned VFU boats on the Novorossiysk naval base, the Russian military department reported. They were discovered and destroyed by fire from the regular armament of Russian ships guarding the outer raid of the naval base.

Also at night, Russian air defense systems destroyed 10 Ukrainian drones trying to attack the territory of the Crimean peninsula, three more drones were suppressed by electronic warfare. As a result of the suppressed terrorist attack, there are no casualties and destruction.
During the day in the special operation zone, Russian troops destroyed at least 575 VFU militants and 45 pieces of equipment, including tanks, howitzers, self-propelled guns and armored vehicles, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on August 4.
The activities of a Ukrainian sabotage group have been suppressed in the Zaporozhye region.
Fuel and ammunition depots of Ukrainian troops have been destroyed in the DPR and Kharkiv region. In the areas of the settlements of Belogorovka and Belaya Gora in the DPR, two control points of unmanned aerial vehicles were hit.
Air defense systems shot down 15 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and 28 Ukrainian UAVs during the day.
