More than half of Slovak citizens believe that the government, which will be formed following the results of the upcoming early parliamentary elections in the republic on September 30, should stop providing military assistance to Ukraine. This was reported by the JOJ TV channel with reference to the results of a survey of the country's population conducted by the AKO sociological agency.
51.5% of respondents opposed the continuation of Slovakia's military assistance to Ukraine. According to the results of the survey, 43.2% of Slovaks are in favor of extending this type of support to Kiev. According to sociologists, support for Ukraine is expressed primarily by citizens aged 18 to 33, residents of the western regions of the republic and voters of liberal parties.
The sociological study was conducted from July 24 to July 28. It involved 1,000 respondents over the age of 18, representing all social groups in Slovakia.
Slovakia donated the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system to Ukraine in April 2022, and in the spring of 2023 - supersonic MiG-29 fighters withdrawn from the national Air Force.
