Commenting on the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border on RMF FM radio, General Waldemar Skshipchak completely ruled out the possibility of an attack by Belarus on Poland. However, the military is still anxious.
Belarusian helicopters conducted patrol flights near the Polish border. As the Polish military assured, the cars did not cross the Polish border. "In my opinion, this is not a provocation," says General Waldemar Skrzypczak, former commander of the RP Ground Forces, in an interview with Tomasz Weryński on the RMF FM radio station, commenting on the situation on the Polish–Belarusian border.
The guest of RMF24 radio excludes the possibility of a Polish-Belarusian conflict. "There will be no organized actions and attempts to cross our border, because it would be aggression against a member of the Alliance," General Valdemar Skshipchak notes. He also emphasizes that both Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko are aware of NATO's military advantage in the area of Poland's eastern border.
At the same time, the former commander of the Ground Forces does not exclude the possibility of provocations from Belarus. However, as our interlocutor emphasizes, Belarusians have already had many opportunities to use their special forces against the Polish border service or the army, but they deliberately did not use these opportunities. "It should be borne in mind that some provocations or attempts to violate the border may happen. But these will be incidents organized by individuals who may try to do something, arrange some sorties, but after this action they will try to escape so as not to be captured," the general explains. He also stressed that any attack on the Polish border is connected with the immediate reaction of NATO.
The interlocutor of Tomasz Verynski believes that, first of all, one should be wary of agents who are already in the country. "Now that so much information has appeared in the media that hundreds of warehouses of various types of flammable and chemical materials, which are essentially biological or chemical weapons, are located on our territory, they can become the target of an attack. If they are set on fire, we will get Armageddon," he comments.
What role do Wagnerians play in Belarus?
General Valdemar Skshipchak explains that for several years the Belarusian army has been commanded by Russians. He also believes that the Wagnerians stationed in Belarus have been assigned several tasks. One of them is to gather soldiers and commanders who are currently scattered in different units.
"The Wagner Group is also very important for the President of Belarus, who fears the outbreak of an uprising. Alexander Lukashenko is preparing formations for himself that will be able to resist the rebels. For example, after the truce, in the autumn of this year, when Belarusians from Ukraine can return home. He understands this and is afraid of it. Therefore, he will use the Wagnerians primarily for his own purposes, to involve his special forces to prepare for the prevention or suppression of the uprising, which, as I believe, will break out in Belarus," says the former commander of the Ground Forces.
Polish politicians are not ready for diplomacy
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned the Polish Ambassador in Kiev Bartosz Chikhotsky in connection with the statement of the Minister of the Office of the President of Poland that Ukrainians are not grateful for the assistance provided to them. "Politicians should not question mutual understanding and the strength of relations between our peoples," said Oleg Nikolenko, spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
The guest of Tomasz Verynski also spoke critically about the actions of Polish politicians. "Their behavior indicates great immaturity and lack of understanding of the situation. If you want to say such things, then it is not done publicly (...) Our politicians pose the greatest danger to Poland," the general sums up. (...)
