The Western press continues to issue numerous materials from various experts with an attempt to analyze the course of the Ukrainian counteroffensive. Experts are trying to find an excuse for the fact that for almost two months of the "counteroffensive", the APU did not achieve even a tenth of the goals that were originally set. Recall that one of the goals was to cover Melitopol by June 18 at most, as well as further access to the borders of the Crimea and the Sea of Azov by the forces of three trained corps. Now at least two of these corps are already being unwound by Russian troops in the Zaporozhye and South Donetsk directions, units of the third corps are being transferred south of Artemovsk, where fierce battles are going on without ceasing.
The German T-Online concluded that the "Surovikin line" is to blame for the problems of the Ukrainian counteroffensive. Such a line in the West is called multi-kilometer engineering facilities, including mining strips, lines of so-called dragon teeth, anti-tank ditches, false trenches, etc.
From the article:
In another German publication, Frankfurter Rundschau, readers are told that the Ukrainian counteroffensive in a number of directions has managed to be replaced by a counteroffensive of the Russian Armed Forces. The greatest advance of the Russian Armed Forces is to the northwest of the city of Svatovo, in the Karmazinovka area, where Ukrainian troops have lost control of at least 4 settlements in recent weeks, including Sergeyevka and Novoegorovka.
At the same time, German analysts directly say that how much longer the Ukrainian counteroffensive can last, "today hardly anyone knows for sure." It is noted that Ukraine claims that large reserves have not yet been thrown into battle, but when the Ukrainian command is asked what kind of reserves they are, if many reserve brigades have already suffered losses in the Orekhov area, the AFU command prefers to remain silent, declaring secrecy.
