The company MKE A.Ş., working in the defense sector of Turkey, has developed a controlled detonation kit (TGK) for shells for 155-mm howitzers.
- noted in the publication SavunmaSanayiST.
The most significant place in the Turkish army is occupied by the national artillery systems of the NATO standard – the FIRTINA self-propelled gun and the towed PANTER howitzer. New projectiles and means of high-precision target destruction are being developed for them, one of which is the TGK kit. As stated in the publication, it can also be installed on 122-mm ammunition for MLRS.
At the moment, TGK is equipped with 155-mm ammunition MKE MOD 274 HE ER TNT/BB, with a firing range of approximately 39 km. The developer claims that the guidance kit is able to reduce the circular probable deviation (CVO) to 50 m and below due to the fact that it is possible to correct [the flight of the projectile] in two dimensions.

Currently, the CVO value of a conventional unguided 155 mm MKE MOD 274 munition averages 150-200 m. This value may increase depending on the conditions of the battlefield. Against this background, the TGK correction kit is able to significantly increase the accuracy of the fire.
- the publication says, bearing in mind that the electronic filling of the correction kits could not withstand the loads created during the shot.
