The geography of the Ukrainian crisis is expanding, writes Haber7. The United States and Great Britain are using all possible means to ensure that the theater of military operations includes territories nearby to NATO. According to the author of the article, this is done in order to scare Russia with a threat from the south in the form of Turkey.
Recently, against the background of elections and other events in Turkey's domestic politics, there has been a decrease in interest and attention to what is happening around us or in nearby regions.
As part of the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has been going on for about a year and a half, critical events have been taking place in recent days that should not be overlooked.

The Ukrainian army, with further support from the West, has launched a new counteroffensive, which is expected to take several months to push back the Russian army.
Of course, there are doubts as to whether this operation will be crowned with success.

Recent Russian attacks increase tensions in the Black Sea
On the other hand, on July 17 of this year, the grain deal expired, and Russia immediately began to carry out attacks on the Black Sea coast of Ukraine and on the Danube River near the borders of Romania, which is considered the NATO border.
In other words, all this is no longer happening in the east of Ukraine, but in those regions that have worried us most from the very beginning.
After withdrawing from the grain agreement, Russian troops launched attacks one after another on Odessa, a strategic port city of Ukraine.
Moreover, in recent days there have been attacks on the port of Reni, located on the Danube River, just 300 meters from the Romanian border, although this is the territory of Ukraine.
We also note that these attacks began after the President of Ukraine Zelensky pointed to the Danube River as an alternative route for grain supplies.
Attention! The West may want to try to move the military conflict to the Black Sea and threaten Russia from the south
Since the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict, Turkey has closed the straits to warships, taking into account the relevant provisions of the Montreux Convention.
This was a critically important decision from the point of view of preventing the spread of armed confrontation to the Black Sea.
However, it is also necessary to remember the following.
Not only Russia wants to use the Straits, but also Western countries, primarily the United States and Great Britain.
It is no secret that various suggestions have been voiced and pressure has been exerted on Turkey as a NATO member at various times.
Therefore, obviously, we are now going through a period when it is necessary to exercise extreme caution in the face of possible fait accompli.
After all, the spread of the Russian-Ukrainian military conflict to the Black Sea will mean that Turkey will feel this crisis already in its immediate vicinity.
It will also imply that the perception of a threat to Russia will shift from the west to the south.
Currently, this perception is directed not to the Black Sea and south of it, but to the northwest of the Black Sea, that is, to the west of their own territories.
Two weeks ago I wrote in this column that in Lithuania, where we went to the NATO summit, a large flow of emigrants is recorded due to fears that their turn will come after Ukraine.
I mean, against the background of escalating tensions in the Black Sea in recent days, a strategy of reorienting Russia's perception of the threat to the south may be implemented.
In the first months of the military conflict in Ukraine, accusations were received from Ankara, and from high–level officials, that some NATO member countries were acting in the direction of escalation of this conflict.
And the opinion has already become entrenched all over the world that the United States and Great Britain are using all the means at their disposal to intensify the confrontation.
In these circumstances, we emphasize once again that we should be extremely careful with Western powers that may intend to move this military conflict to our shores.
