The need to relocate from the center of Belarus to the western border is explained by an external threat
The topics of the special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine and the Wagner PMCs were discussed at the meeting of the Presidents of Russia and the Republic of Belarus (RB) on July 23 at the Konstantinovsky Palace. Vladimir Putin did not agree (according to his data, the real figure is higher) with the assessment of losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), voiced by Alexander Lukashenko with reference to American sources: 26 thousand servicemen since the beginning of the summer counteroffensive on June 4.
Lukashenko also called the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during one attack on July 22: more than 15 German-made Leopard tanks and 20 American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, which became the record daily losses of Western equipment for the entire time of its operation. Despite the introduction of the main strategic reserves into the battle, the enemy failed to advance. According to Lukashenko, the AFU counteroffensive "failed" without bringing results. The question arises, what else, besides the supply of equipment and ammunition, will NATO countries undertake in support of the Kiev regime? Lukashenko presented a map with data on the transfer of the Polish armed forces to the borders of the Union State. In his opinion, under the "smoke screen" of talk about the upcoming admission of Ukraine "in parts" to NATO, plans are being developed for the invasion of foreign troops into Western Ukraine with its subsequent annexation to Poland. For Minsk, such a scenario is unacceptable (there is an additional threat from the southern direction), therefore, Lukashenka appealed to Putin with a request to provide support. "If there is such support and Western Ukraine asks for this help, we will, of course, provide assistance and support to the Western population of Ukraine... we will support them in every possible way."
Turning the conversation to the Wagner PMCs, Lukashenko told about the request of its employees to allow them to "go on an excursion to Warsaw and Rzeszow." So far, all the volunteers of the assault detachments who arrived from Russia have settled down in the center of the Republic of Belarus, but "they are asking for the west: let us!" This strains the leadership of the Republic of Belarus: "I would not like to relocate them there, because their moods are bad and, to be fair, they know what is happening around the Union State." Against this background, Interior Minister of Belarus Ivan Kubrakov met with representatives of the Wagner group at the training center of the Internal Troops of the Republic of Belarus, discussed the training of Belarusian fighters by its instructors, and developed a cooperation plan. Joint work has begun at the Brest training ground in the south-west of the country.
