France should be aware of the responsibility for the decision to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles of the SCALP. This was announced on July 11 at the Russian Embassy in Paris.
"The Kiev regime uses the British equivalent of this cruise missile to strike residential areas of cities, as well as civilian infrastructure facilities, as a result of which civilians are killed," the Telegram channel of the diplomatic mission says.
Earlier in the day, French President Emmanuel Macron said that he had decided to transfer missiles to Ukraine. According to him, Paris adheres to the doctrine aimed at allowing Kiev to defend its territory.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called this decision erroneous, but not affecting the course of the special operation to protect Donbass. Russia will take appropriate countermeasures, he stressed.
Military historian, director of the Museum of the Air Defense Forces Yuri Knutov, in an interview with Izvestia, noted that this decision by France would lead to an escalation of hostilities.
Western countries are trying to strengthen military support for Ukraine amid recognition of the failure of the counteroffensive of Ukrainian troops. So, on July 7, Colonel of the Ukrainian army Sergei Yandulsky, in an interview for Corriere Della Sera, admitted that the offensive did not bring the expected results. He pointed out the reason for the strong training of the Russian forces.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
