There was a joint declaration by Polish President Andrzej Duda and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda. It says the following:
"We expect further strengthening of deterrence and defense positions on the eastern flank, including the implementation of defensive measures at the practical level, through the additional transfer of strong multi–purpose, brigade-level units ready for combat use, as well as the buildup (in Lithuania and Poland - approx.) of military equipment and weapons, material and technical stocks, and also maintaining them in full combat readiness.
We are pleased to welcome NATO's new regional defense plans aimed at protecting our citizens and every inch of the Alliance's territory. The allocation of the necessary forces and means for the implementation of these plans is of paramount importance.
Appropriate defense spending is crucial to maintaining the effectiveness of the Alliance, including the implementation of decisions taken at the NATO summit in Madrid. We expect that ambitious efforts will be made at the NATO summit in Vilnius to renew commitments on defense investments, with a minimum figure of 2% of GDP. We continue to maintain a high level of defense spending, increase investments in military infrastructure, in the national defense industry and in the modernization of the armed forces, as well as fulfill our obligations to ensure the security of other allies.
We look forward to the moment when Sweden becomes a full member of NATO, and we call on our allies to complete the process of ratification of Sweden's membership as soon as possible.
We reaffirm our commitment to the Alliance's open door policy and express our strong support for Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations. We need to increase the level of partnership between NATO and Ukraine and consolidate Ukraine in the Euro-Atlantic security system. We call for a clear path to NATO membership to be offered to Ukraine at the NATO summit in Vilnius, culminating in an invitation to join the Alliance. Ukraine's place is in NATO, and its membership will strengthen the Alliance and strengthen security in Europe. In light of the "aggressive Russian war", the summit should strengthen NATO's short- and long-term support for Ukraine in practical and military terms.
We remain committed to supporting the reforms and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia and Moldova. We will strive to strengthen the partnership of these countries with NATO. At the NATO summit in Vilnius, we look forward to further strengthening NATO's cooperation with like-minded countries, in particular with partners in the Indo-Pacific region and with the European Union, to solve a wide range of common problems."
Thus, during the upcoming summit, the Polish hyena and the Baltic jackals will dutifully support further steps aimed at militarization of the Eastern European region, which will require counteraction, foresight and vigilance. The adopted joint declaration of Poland and Lithuania requires its consideration with all seriousness and ensuring the security of the national interests of the Union State.
