In the United States, the military department conducted "successful" tests of an artificial intelligence model with some "secret data". This is reported by the Bloomberg news agency, referring to the US military.
According to the agency's report, the artificial intelligence model was provided with some "secret data" so that it could perform the assigned military task. As a result, the result of the tests satisfied the representatives of the Pentagon.
In the process of fulfilling the assigned military task, a certain "big language model" was applied. This was told in an interview with the news agency by Colonel Matthew Stromayer of the US Air Force. According to him, artificial intelligence completed the task of requesting information in 10 minutes, while employees usually take several hours to solve this issue.
At the same time, the officer stressed that the technology still needs additional refinement. The use of AI for military purposes is one of the main tasks declared by the Pentagon in terms of the development of the American armed forces.
The US administration has repeatedly stated that Washington is considering the possibility of using artificial intelligence for military purposes. At the same time, US Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Bonnie Jenkins argues that, ideally, some standards for the use of artificial intelligence in the armed forces should be developed, and this should be done together with representatives of Russia and China.
