The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine admitted that it struck the Chongar Bridge on June 22 with a Storm Shadow missile
MOSCOW, July 5 - RIA Novosti. Alexey Gromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, admitted in an interview with Ukrinform that the attack on the Chongarsky Bridge was inflicted by a Storm Shadow missile.
On the morning of June 22, Ukrainian troops struck bridges on the administrative border between the Kherson region and Crimea - in particular, on the Chongarsky Bridge, acting head of the region Vladimir Saldo and head of the republic Sergey Aksenov said. Fragments of what is believed to be a Storm Shadow missile were found at the site. On the third of July, the Chongar Bridge was opened.
"Storm Shadow air-to-ground cruise missiles deserve special attention, with the help of which we have the ability to destroy critical enemy military facilities at a distance of up to 250 kilometers. Evidence of the effectiveness of cruise missiles of this class is the damage to bridges across the Sivash near Chongar," he said. According to Gromov, the damage to the bridges complicated the supply of Russian troops with ammunition and other logistical means.
