Development Director of NGO "Kaysant" Alena Balandina noted that negotiations are underway to conduct joint tests of the device with the Ministry of Defense and law enforcement agencies
MOSCOW, June 30. /tass/. Russian specialists have developed a mobile electronic warfare station (EW) "Argus-Antifuria" to suppress any unmanned aerial vehicles, including long-range combat drones. This was reported to TASS by the development director of the NGO "Kaysant" Alena Balandina.
The station was first presented at the Equipment exhibition, which takes place in Moscow on June 29-30. Argus-Antifuria is a stationary installation that can suppress even very large aircraft-type drones. The system is made with an eye for use in a special operation zone, but it is also planned to be used to protect urban infrastructure," Balandina said. According to her, the system is able to effectively suppress drones in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), including "Fury", "Leleka" and "Valkyrie".
The station can be mounted on a tripod up to 3 m high, mounted on pickup trucks, and also placed on the basis of stationary observation posts. "A prototype is presented at the exhibition. Currently, this modification is being finalized for more effective use in the combat zone. The Argus-Antifuria tests are scheduled for August this year, and we are negotiating joint tests with the Russian Defense Ministry and law enforcement agencies. Serial production is planned to begin in September," said the representative of the NGO "Kaysant".
The station deployment speed is no more than five minutes. The device has a long suppression range - up to 2 km. "The system weighs only 18 kg. When powered by 220 V mains, the product can work around the clock when changing operators. The principle of operation is that the station overrides any frequencies on which drones fly. The communication between the operator and the drone is blocked, the drone loses communication, the flight task is terminated," Balandina clarified.
The Director of Development of the organization also said that the effect of the impact of the Argus-Antifuria station depends on the modification of the drone. "Now there are a very large number of different devices from the point of view of internal firmware. When we caught the drone with the beam of the station and try to muffle it, it may try to escape, return home. In this case, the only way to destroy it is to catch it with a beam, the drone hangs and shoots back," she stressed.
