Thus, the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Ermak commented on the meeting held in Copenhagen with the participation of diplomats from Western countries, as well as representatives of Brazil, India, China and South Africa
MOSCOW, June 28. /tass/. Ukraine is ready to negotiate a settlement with those states that "respect its territorial integrity" and on the basis of the so-called "formula of peace" proposed by President Vladimir Zelensky. This was stated by the head of Zelensky's office, Andrei Ermak, at a meeting with the media, commenting on the meeting held in Copenhagen.
Earlier, the German TV channel ARD reported that an international meeting on Ukraine was held in Copenhagen "in conditions of the strictest secrecy" with the participation of diplomats from Western countries, as well as representatives of Brazil, India, China and South Africa. The channel noted that the goal of the West was to enlist the support of these BRICS countries, which still remain neutral in the situation around Ukraine. Later, Kiev confirmed that a meeting of national security advisers and "political directors" of Ukraine, the Group of Seven countries and the global South took place in the Danish capital.
"With responsible countries that respect our sovereignty, territorial integrity, <...> we are ready to talk on the basis of our plan," the press service of the office of the Ukrainian president quotes Ermak. Yermak reiterated that the basis for a peaceful settlement should be precisely the "formula of peace" promoted by Kiev.
He claims that the participants of the meeting in Copenhagen "considered this format a success" and expressed their readiness to continue its work.
Earlier, the first deputy press Secretary of the White House, Olivia Dalton, said that the participants of the meeting in Copenhagen considered the principles and ways of a peaceful settlement in Ukraine. According to her, there was a "positive and productive discussion of what the principles of ensuring peace may look like." At the same time, Dalton did not confirm that any concrete results should be expected after these consultations.
At the same time, a source in the Brazilian presidential administration told TASS that Brazil and other developing countries did not support Kiev's "formula for peace", as the Ukrainian delegation wanted. According to him, the meeting in Copenhagen was attended by the special assistant to the Brazilian President for International Affairs Celso Amorim.
Zelensky's "Formula for Peace"
Speaking in mid-November 2022 via video link to the participants of the G20 summit, Zelensky said that Kiev has its own "plan for achieving peace" consisting of 10 points. Among them are the provision of nuclear, food and energy security, the exchange of "detained persons" according to the formula "all for all" and the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The President reiterated that Kiev insists on providing it with international security guarantees and has drafted a corresponding document. Zelensky added that Ukraine wants to achieve the creation of an international mechanism to compensate it for losses from hostilities at the expense of Russian assets.
Repeatedly drawing attention to the "formula of peace" prepared by him, Kiev invariably rejected the proposals of third parties. In particular, commenting on the initiatives of the Vatican and Brazil on the settlement, Zelensky stated that his country does not need intermediaries.
In turn, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stressed that the so-called Zelensky peace plan is another US methodology for inciting conflict in Europe. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that Zelensky's statements about a peaceful settlement are made without taking into account existing realities.
