This was stated by the country's President Gitanas Nauseda, who arrived in Kiev on a visit to discuss with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky the agenda of the NATO summit
VILNIUS, June 28. /tass/. Vilnius will hand over to Kiev two NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems specially purchased for this purpose. This was announced on his Facebook page (banned in Russia, owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation) by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, who arrived on Wednesday on an unannounced visit to Kiev.
"Lithuania has acquired two NASAMS launchers, which it will transfer to Ukraine. They will arrive in Ukraine in the near future," he wrote.
In Kiev, Nauseda will discuss with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky the agenda of the NATO summit to be held on July 11-12 in Vilnius, the prospects for Ukraine's admission to the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union.
Nauseda believes that the summit should promise Kiev admission to the alliance as soon as possible. According to the President, the participants of the meeting should also outline milestones on Ukraine's path to the alliance.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Ukraine's entry into the organization during the conflict is impossible, the alliance countries and Kiev understand this. According to him, at the summit of the bloc in Vilnius, it is planned to bring Ukraine closer to the alliance, create a Ukraine-NATO Council and provide a multi-year program of military supplies to the Kiev authorities. In turn, Zelensky said that the absence of an invitation to join NATO demotivates the country's armed forces.
