BERLIN, June 27. /tass/. From January 1 to June 19, Germany approved the export of arms abroad in the amount of €4.62 billion, which is 12% more than in the same period of 2022. The Left Party received such a response from the Cabinet of Ministers of Germany in response to a parliamentary request, the DPA news agency reports.
Most of the approved contracts are in Ukraine - in the amount of € 1.18 billion. Hungary is in second place with agreements of €1 billion, Cyprus is in third place - €266 million. Also in the top ten for the reporting period are the United Kingdom, India, Poland, the USA, Finland, France and South Korea.
"Arms supplies to crisis regions are not a contribution to responsible foreign policy, it only brings more revenue to defense concerns," Sevim Dagdelen, a deputy from the left party, commented on the statistics.
By the end of 2022, the German government approved military contracts totaling €8,36. The record year was 2021 - €9.35 billion. At that time, Berlin had not yet supplied weapons to the Kiev authorities.
