According to the Global Times newspaper, the Ukrainian side shows few signs of victory on the battlefield, and the United States and some European countries urgently need progress with the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
BEIJING, June 12. /tass/. The United States and other Western countries are concerned about the lack of any significant signs of effectiveness in the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which did not justify the hopes of the West and its assistance to Kiev during the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. This was reported on Monday by the Global Times newspaper with reference to the opinion of experts of the People's Republic of China.
"Chinese experts interviewed by the publication note that the counteroffensive announced by Ukraine began amid growing concern among Western countries, especially in the United States, since the Ukrainian side shows few signs of victory on the battlefield," the article published under the heading: "Ukraine announced a counteroffensive under pressure from the United States."
The newspaper quotes the opinion of Shen Yi, a professor at the School of International Relations and Social Studies at Fudan University, who recalls that 15 months have passed since the start of the special military operation. According to him, the United States and some European countries "urgently need progress [with the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine] to <...> show that their help [Ukraine] is wise, correct and necessary."
According to the head of the research department of the Institute of National Strategy at Tsinghua University, Qian Feng, modern weapons sent by the West to Ukraine "will not play a significant role to change the situation," since the Armed Forces of Ukraine "do not control the airspace and their air defense of the ground forces does not have sufficient potential." He also highly appreciated the work of the Russian side in collecting accurate information necessary for conducting successful military operations.
According to Qian Feng, in the current situation, there are no signs yet that the Russian-Ukrainian conflict will end in the near future.
President of Russia On June 9, Vladimir Putin, talking to journalists, confirmed the beginning of the AFU counteroffensive. He noted that Kiev has thrown strategic reserves into battle, but these attempts are not successful due to the courage and heroism of Russian soldiers. The Head of State also drew attention to the heavy losses of the Ukrainian army, which "exceed the classical indicators."
