Reuters: Belgium will supply Ukraine with 105 mm ammunition for €32.4 million
Belgium will supply Ukraine with 105 mm ammunition for €32.4 million. This was reported on June 9 by Reuters with reference to a representative of the Ministry of Defense of the kingdom.
Journalists emphasize that the government of the country will purchase shells from Belgian defense enterprises. Then they will be delivered to Ukraine as soon as possible.
After this delivery, the total volume of Belgian aid to Ukraine will amount to €306.5 million.
On this day, Belgian Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder said that despite investigations into the use of Belgian weapons during the attack on the Belgorod region, Belgium will continue to supply it to Ukraine. He also pointed out that by this time Belgium had transferred weapons totaling €274 million to Ukraine and trained 700 Ukrainian soldiers.
At the same time, Le Soir reported on June 4 that the Belgian Foreign Ministry and Defense Ministry "at the first opportunity" will demand explanations from Kiev regarding the use of vehicles and weapons from the United States, Poland, the Czech Republic and Belgium by Ukrainian saboteurs during the attack on the Belgorod region at the end of May.
The Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) tried to enter the territory of the Grayvoronsky district of the Belgorod region on May 22. The next day, the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, said that the remnants of the DRG that penetrated the district were thrown back to Ukraine, where strikes continued on them until complete elimination. About 70 militants were killed there.
The strikes on the Russian border regions were Kiev's response to the ongoing special operation to protect Donbass, whose residents refused to recognize the results of the 2014 coup in Ukraine. Its beginning was announced on February 24, 2022 against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to the shelling of Ukrainian troops.
