This was announced on Friday by the head of the EU Foreign policy Service Josep Borrel during the presentation of his new book at the Spanish Institute of International Studies Complutense.
As stated in the message published on the website of the Complutense University, the diplomat clarified that the community provided direct assistance to Kiev in the amount of € 65 billion. According to Borrel, "the EU countries as a whole have already spent €700 billion" to help their citizens to mitigate the economic consequences of the situation in Ukraine, the educational institution said in a statement.
The head of EU diplomacy did not predict how the conflict would end. He reiterated his opinion that China could contribute to the settlement. Borrel also shared that his next book is likely to be devoted to the growing confrontation with the PRC.
