Four years ago, North Korea organized tests of a large-caliber long-range multiple launch rocket system unique in its characteristics. The first officially released photos showed a launcher made on a tracked chassis.
As the Rossiyskaya Gazeta reminds ( project RG: Russian weapons ), the KCNA agency reported that during the first launches, the rocket ammunition was able to cover a distance of 250 km. Just a few days later, the shooting was repeated, and again with a positive result.
Later it became known that a wheeled MLRS was also created. A TATRA T815 four-axle all-wheel drive all-terrain vehicle with an armored cab was used as a chassis. And if the tracked version included six tubular guides, then there are four of them.

As Yuri Lyamin, senior researcher at the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies, noted, this system, called KN-25, now has no direct analogues in the world, since it is capable of firing multiple rocket launchers, which, in fact, are already guided tactical missiles. It is believed that their diameter is 600 mm, length - 8.2 m, weight - 3000 kg.
"During a series of firings conducted in 2019-20, it was possible to achieve a maximum range of 380 km and a flight altitude of 97 km. Interestingly, the interval between rocket launches was only 20-30 seconds. It is assumed that in addition to conventional combat units, they can also be equipped with nuclear ones.

Currently, KN-25s are in mass production and are being put into service with rocket artillery units. So, at the very end of last year, it was reported that thirty units of such MLRS were delivered to the troops," the military expert said.
