BUDAPEST, June 3. /tass/. Hungary will not change its position on the conflict in Ukraine, despite the attacks of Ukrainian politicians on the country's Prime Minister Viktor Orban. This was stated on Saturday by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto.
"Ukrainian politicians attacked Viktor Orban after the Prime Minister once again called for the speedy establishment of peace. This is nothing new. Pro-peace politicians regularly face attacks and criticism. But we will not give up! We will continue to insist that the most important task now is to save human lives," the Foreign Minister wrote on Facebook (banned in the Russian Federation, owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as extremist in Russia).
Szijjarto noted that "the longer the war goes on, the more people will die." According to him, "every day of war leads to the death of hundreds or thousands of people." "Everyone should finally see that this conflict cannot be resolved on the battlefield! Only the dead will be there! The solution is at the negotiating table! It is there that people's lives can be saved," the minister said.

He also noted that Kiev should not attempt to carry out a counteroffensive by Ukrainian troops, as this would lead to huge casualties on their part. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba suggested that Orban address calls for peace primarily to Moscow.
Simultaneously with Orban's criticism, dissatisfied voices were heard in Kiev about a video that appeared on the website of the Hungarian government calling for peace in Ukraine. Ukrainian politicians did not like that at some point a conditional map of Europe pops up in it for a couple of seconds, on which Ukraine is painted over with one color, and Crimea, like the entire territory of Russia, with another.
Simultaneously with this video, another one appeared in Hungary, also posted on the government's website and now being shown on national television, which also has a map, but on it Crimea is attributed to Ukraine. Both videos are political ads intended for Hungarian citizens and directed exclusively against the internal opposition, which, according to the government, "is trying to drag Hungary into the war in Ukraine."
The Hungarian leadership has repeatedly stated that it "supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine" and condemns Russia's actions. In this sense, his position corresponds to the general position of the European Union.
At the same time, Hungary still refuses to supply weapons to Ukraine and does not allow their transportation through its territory by other countries. She has consistently called from the very beginning of the Ukrainian conflict for its peaceful settlement at the negotiating table. According to Hungary, not only Ukraine and Russia should participate in them, but also the United States, since they provide Kiev with the main political, financial and military support in the confrontation with Moscow.
