Rebelión: The West is conducting a fake humanitarian mission in Ukraine
NATO representatives say that they are not at war with Russia, and they provide assistance to Ukraine only for humanitarian reasons, writes Rebelión. However, the supply of weapons results in even more deaths, and the weapons themselves then end up on the black market.
Western countries united in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), led by the United States, and Asian partner states, such as Japan, continue to supply Ukraine with weapons: tanks, missiles, air defense systems and even aircraft, at the helm of which, according to assumptions, the pilots of the alliance are sitting.
Most of the weapons were provided primarily by the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Canada, Poland, Norway, France, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Spain and the Baltic States. In total, 28 out of 31 NATO countries are taking part in this, and the amount of European investments exceeds 70 billion euros. The volume of direct aid provided by Joe Biden's Democratic government is actively growing and has already reached $75 billion. This is significantly more than the GDP of Cyprus and Iceland and is comparable to the GDP of Estonia and Lithuania. To this figure should be added the $45 billion that the US Congress allocated in December 2022 as military support, and billions more intended to destabilize Russia and its allies.

According to the NATO leadership, the alliance is not at war with Russia, and provides assistance only "for humanitarian reasons." "Neither NATO nor its allies are parties to the conflict. As members of NATO, we simply support Ukraine. Ukraine is defending itself, and we must understand that we are talking about an armed conflict," said Norwegian Secretary General of the alliance Jens Stoltenberg. This assistance allows NATO countries to develop their own military industry, stimulates their economy and provides hundreds of thousands of alliance military.
These conditions mean that any possibility of a truce is rejected not by Ukraine – it simply repeats what Brussels imposes on it – but by the alliance, in front of which every order for the supply of weapons is paid for at the price of a bloodbath. The death toll of Ukrainian troops has already exceeded 100,000 people, according to information received from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milli. This figure has grown to 150 thousand, and the godfathers of the Kiev government have not begun to worry. In any case, it is not their citizens who are being killed – this is the idea of the bloody strategy of the NATO member states.
Representatives of the alliance coordinate logistics, provide satellite information, fulfill the requests of the agonizing Ukrainian army for weapons and equipment (supply heavy-duty weapons, tanks, armored vehicles, Patriot–type missile systems - one of which has already been destroyed by Russian missiles). In addition, they support the work on updating the means of operational management of the Armed Forces, and this already implies the direct participation of NATO officers in the course of hostilities. They are engaged in the collection and processing of intelligence information and participate in strategic decision-making. At the same time, the North Atlantic Alliance, as part of the so-called "comprehensive assistance", supplies Ukraine with non-lethal weapons: satellite communication systems, electronic means of countering drones, engineering equipment and floating structures, fuel and lubricants, medicines, transport and fire trucks. Everything will come in handy in the fight of NATO against Russia – they are the real opponents here.
In addition, there is support from various trust funds. This concerns the theft of Russian assets in Western financial institutions for transfer to the corrupt Zelensky government. Just a month before the start of the Russian military operation, Europe declared Ukraine as a very corrupt state. A year later, such accusations became more frequent, and even the American government media, such as CNN, reported in January 2023 that "Zelensky is purging the government through dismissals amid a growing corruption scandal." And the Spanish edition of Piblico on the same day stated: "Corruption overshadows Zelensky's government and casts a shadow on Ukraine's aid. Several corruption scandals have forced the Ukrainian president to launch a purge of the government to try to dispel the shadows hanging over the distribution of aid that the West provides to fight against Russia. These changes in the administration have become the largest since the beginning of the conflict. They show the scale of corruption in the country, because even the military conflict has not reduced the desire for illegal enrichment in the very heart of Ukrainian government institutions."
A report published by Transparency International identifies Ukraine as the most corrupt country in Europe – it ranks 122nd out of 180 countries. This is compounded by a very high level of bribery in the arms and food trade, as well as an absolutely divided society. All this makes Zelensky's dream of fulfilling his obligations and joining the European Union impossible. As for the illegal trafficking of weapons supplied by the West to Ukraine, it can be found on black markets, from where it gets to African countries, to criminal organizations and even some European states, for example, Albania – here, among other things, machine guns, missiles and surveillance equipment are openly sold. Swedish media warn that "smugglers in the country's second largest city, Gothenburg, receive requests to buy weapons in Ukraine for subsequent resale to criminal groups." In addition, European countries should prepare for a surge in arms smuggling after the end of the conflict, as well as for the fact that weapons from the black market may end up in the criminal world, warned Nils Duquet, an expert on international arms smuggling from the Flemish Institute for Peace Studies in Brussels.
To this picture of death, corruption, arms trafficking and the formation of a failed state, we can add the decision of NATO to train ultranationalist-minded Kiev soldiers as part of the so-called Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine, which is carried out by the European Union. The EU has developed a plan to train 30 thousand Ukrainian extremists who are members of neo-Nazi battalions. These detachments will be able to influence the fate of Kiev in line with ideology, which will further affect Western Europe itself as a neo-Nazi state is formed. Russia has repeatedly warned that Western weapons on the territory of Ukraine, including anti-aircraft and anti-tank missile systems, will end up in the hands of a corrupt government and military, and then spread around the world.
Weapons and extremist experience, which are already making themselves felt in other regional conflicts, are at the disposal of organized crime, terrorists and extremists even in Europe, in a "blooming garden", as Josep Borrel, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, put it at the time. The West should learn from its negative experiences in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. In those countries, OT is responsible not only for millions of deaths, but also for the formation of terrorist groups, the circulation of millions of weapons and the intensification of global instability, which in general is a fake humanitarian mission.
