/tass/. Italy is preparing a new, seventh, package of military assistance to Ukraine. This was reported on Tuesday by the ANSA news agency, indicating that the speech of the Minister of Defense of the Republic Guido Crozetto at the special Parliamentary Security Committee (Copasir) was devoted to this issue.
The content of the speech at the meeting, which usually takes place behind closed doors, is not given. According to accepted practice, the list of military aid supplied is also classified.
So far, Italy has carried out deliveries in accordance with six interagency packages, the last of which was approved at the beginning of the year. Since March 2022, when the parliament approved the relevant resolution, then confirmed by a new convocation in December, Italy has supplied military uniforms, weapons and other materials within the framework of six relevant aid packages in the amount of €1 billion to €1.5 billion. It was reported that the Samp-T anti-aircraft missile system of joint Italian-French production was delivered to Ukraine. At the same time, the Italian leadership stated that it could not participate in equipping Kiev with F-16 fighters, since it did not have them at its disposal, but the country could train the Ukrainian military.
