From the point of view of the American government, the fulfillment of the contract "will contribute to the achievement of foreign policy goals and national security objectives of the United States by strengthening the security of Ukraine, which allegedly "is a force for political stability and economic progress in Europe." The deal "will not change the basic military balance in the region," the State Department and the Pentagon say. The main contractor is Raytheon Corporation. "As a result of this potential deal, there will be no negative impact on the combat readiness of the American defense system," the US authorities said.
Permission for the implementation of this agreement, which, in accordance with national legislation, is issued by the Foreign Ministry, has been received. The US administration has already notified Congress of its decisions. The legislative branch of the US government now has 30 days to study the new agreement and its possible blocking.
