EU countries have submitted a €10 billion bill to Brussels to compensate for the supply of weapons to Ukraine

The head of the EU Foreign Policy Service, Josep Borrel, noted that this is much more than expectedBRUSSELS, May 23.

/tass/. The EU countries have submitted to Brussels an invoice for €10 billion to compensate for the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

This was stated on Tuesday by the head of the EU Foreign Policy Service, Josep Borrel, upon arrival at a meeting of EU defense ministers.

"We will consider the supply of ammunition to Ukraine and discuss the European Peace Fund. The member countries have provided us with accounts for €10 billion, which is significantly more than expected. That is, with €3.5 billion (allocated from the European Peace Fund to compensate for part of the cost of supplies - approx. TASS) we have already been able to mobilize arms supplies worth €10 billion," Borrel said.
