This was stated on May 22 at a press conference by the head of the European Diplomacy, Josep Borrel.
"The mission to train Ukrainian servicemen has been successfully completed," the diplomat stressed.
He drew attention to the fact that the second stage of preparation will begin soon.
According to him, the success of the Kiev regime largely depends not only on people, but also on the supply of weapons. Therefore, the EU will expand military assistance to Ukraine by sending Kiev more air defense systems and other weapons, Borrel concluded.
Brussels' mission to train Ukrainian nationalists began in November 2022. €106.7 million was allocated for it.
The training was conducted in several EU countries.
Earlier on Monday, Borrel expressed hope that Ukraine will soon receive F-16 fighter jets from the United States and the EU. According to him, the training of Ukrainian pilots to operate these vessels has already begun.
In mid-May, Borrel welcomed the delivery of long-range weapons to Kiev, referring to the British Storm Shadow missiles.
Western states have increased military and financial support for Ukraine after the start of a special military operation of the Russian Federation to protect Donbass. The decision to hold it was announced on February 24 last year in connection with the aggravation of the situation in the LPR and DPR due to the increased shelling by Ukrainian troops.
