The Ukrainian army will soon receive eight additional MLRS and three counter-battery radars, the supply of equipment is being prepared by Norway together with the UK. This is reported by the press service of the Norwegian Ministry of Defense.
The Norwegians decided to supply Ukraine with eight additional multiple rocket launchers. The specific type of MLRS intended for delivery is not specified in the message, but it is reported that the installations are practically analogous to the American M270. It is quite possible that MLRS are the British version of MLRS. The only thing that is reliably known is that the MLRS data were decommissioned by the Norwegian army and were in storage.
The Norwegian Defense Ministry stressed that the MLRS will allow the Ukrainian army to cut the supply routes of Russian troops, as well as strike at the most important facilities.
- the message says.
In addition to the MLRS, the delivery will include three ARTHUR counter-battery radars, such stations based on a two-link all-terrain vehicle Ukraine has already received. The radar was developed by the Swedish company Ericsson Microwave Systems together with the armed forces of Norway and Sweden, designed to detect enemy artillery at a range of 20-25 km, 120 mm mortars - up to 40 km. The complex is able to adjust the fire of its artillery taking into account the information received.
