Norway will soon supply additional NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine, the production of which is carried out at one of the Kongsberg Defense enterprises & Aerospace AS is a subsidiary of the Norwegian concern Kongsberg Gruppen. This was announced by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk.
The delegation of the Ukrainian parliament arrived in Norway to get acquainted with the production of anti-aircraft systems for Ukraine and to hurry the Norwegians against the background of the problems of Ukrainian air defense. According to Stefanchuk, who headed the delegation, negotiations were held with the president of Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace, Eric Lee, on the topic of increasing the supply of NASAMS air defense systems to Kiev. What the parties came to is not reported, but the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada said that additional complexes will arrive in Ukraine soon.

It is not yet known how many complexes Norway will supply, previously the Norwegians promised to transfer two firing platoons to Kiev. One battery consists of three platoons, each of which includes two or three launchers, AN AN/MPQ-64f1 Improved Sentinel radar, one control vehicle and one vehicle with an MSP500 optical station.
To date, Ukraine has two NASAMS SAM batteries in service. Six sets were promised by the United States, and it is Norway that is producing them. Another set is promised by Canada. In Ukraine, the NASAMS complex is sung praises, however, as is the Patriot air defense system. According to Kiev, Western air defense systems are several times superior to Russian ones.
