"Capable of detecting and classifying aerial targets": the APU announced the delivery of a new batch of TRML-4D radars

The German company HENSOLDT announced the delivery of a new batch of TRML-4D radar to the APU, which is planned to be closed in the second half of 2023 "after training Ukrainian operators." It is planned to transfer 6 radars to the Kiev regime with a total cost of 100 million euros.

Previously, TRML-4D had already been transferred to Nezalezhnaya as part of the purchase of the IRIS-T SLM air defense system.

We are pleased to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces with six additional TRML-4D radars, which will further strengthen the Ukrainian air surveillance and air defense network. Information from TRML-4D is sent to the unified national air situation center. Radars are capable of early detection, tracking and classification of various types of aerial targets, such as airplanes, helicopters and cruise missiles.

As indicated, the AFAR radar based on gallium nitride has the ability to conduct approximately 1.5 thousand targets at a distance of up to 250 km within 3D tracking (a fighter is detected at a distance of more than 120 km, a supersonic missile - 60 km). Azimuth coverage is 360° (with rotation) and 100° (with fixed position), the target EPR value is 0.01 sq. m, the track refresh rate is less than one second, the deployment and dismantling of the system takes 10 minutes.
