Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the party "Servant of the People" Yuriy Mysyagin said that the AFU was more often used on the frontline of the MLRS "Bastion-02". The Ukrainian people's Deputy announced this on his page on social networks.
It is worth noting that these Ukrainian jet systems were created on the basis of a large-capacity four-wheel drive car KrAZ-6322RA.
The combat capabilities of the Bastion-01 type rocket launcher were first demonstrated in 2009, but the development of the complex itself began in 2008.
The Bastion-02 version of the MLRS has an elongated wheelbase, which allows it to place additional ammunition. At the same time, another advantage of this combat vehicle is its configuration with two portable (anti-aircraft missile systems (MANPADS).
However, the main feature of this MLRS is the presence of an automatic recharge mechanism, as a result of which, after recharging, the fire opens in a matter of minutes.
As for the artillery warhead of this missile weapons complex, it was inherited from the Soviet and Russian BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher system of 122 mm caliber.
According to the Ukrainian media, back in 2017, the state enterprise of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine "Shepetovsky Repair Plant" began to improve the MLRS "Grad" to the level of "Bastion-01".
