The United States has sent 43 specialists in the field of cyber operations to Ukraine. This was announced on April 24 by William Hartman, commander of the cyber-national forces at the Ministry of Defense.
"We are sending protection groups, and they are hunting for common opponents, finding tools and opportunities," he told Reuters.
According to him, the United States sends its specialists to various countries to fight hackers. Over the past three years, cyber-national forces have conducted 47 defensive operations in 20 countries around the world.
Earlier, on April 17, Republican Congressman Matt Getz introduced a resolution demanding disclosure of information about the presence of American military personnel on the territory of Ukraine. According to the politician, the published documents of the Pentagon contain information that last month there were at least 29 employees of the US Department of Defense in Ukraine, including 14 special forces.
On the same day, US Defense Department spokesman Patrick Ryder said that US military personnel do not take part in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine. According to Ryder, the United States currently maintains a small military presence at the American embassy in Kiev. However, these forces are located there at the office of the military attache.
Earlier, on April 14, Politico, citing leaked secret Pentagon documents, stated that NATO special forces are operating in Ukraine. In particular, there are almost 100 military of the alliance in the conflict zone. The US sent 14 people there.
On April 12, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin does not know about the degree of reliability of the data contained in the secret documents of the Pentagon. However, it was known that the NATO military was taking part in the fighting in Ukraine even before the papers got on the Internet.
