Advance readers were skeptical about the possibilities of the Ukrainian counteroffensiveKrajina uses frustration as a military tactic, writes Advance.
By talking about a counteroffensive, she is trying to psychologically harm the Russians, but no matter how soon it will harm Kiev itself, the author of the article fears. Readers of the publication consider his threats to be tales for the public.
Antun RochaKiev said today that its long-awaited counteroffensive is "almost ready."
This statement was made after Russian troops launched a series of powerful air strikes on cities throughout Ukraine early in the morning. During the day, the number of civilians killed was constantly growing. This is the first such massive Russian air strike in almost two months.
What kind of message is Moscow sending now? Does she want to discourage Kiev on the eve of its counteroffensive? Does he want to make it clear that Russia will have absolute air superiority? Or do the Russian actions in some sense reflect the frustration caused by such frequent mention of the Ukrainian counteroffensive (although it has not yet begun!) against the background of the fact that the Russian forces, despite great efforts, still fail to break the Ukrainian resistance in Artemovsk (Bakhmut)?
The frustration on the Russian side is really felt, including because of the grandiose presentation of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, however, which has not yet begun. Ukrainians and their allies claim that the purpose of this counteroffensive is "to return all the territories that are now under Russian rule," which is about a fifth of Ukraine. Let me remind you that Russia has already announced the annexation of four Ukrainian regions (in addition to Crimea, which it annexed in 2014). We are talking about Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. However, Russian forces do not fully control any of these regions, which in itself causes frustration in Moscow, since by announcing the accession, the Russians have committed themselves (to themselves and others!) take these areas under your full control.
It is clear that in an armed conflict, both sides are trying to use any tactics and strategies only to throw the enemy off balance, and an attempt to frustrate him, of course, is one of these tactics.
In addition, by their procrastination and constant statements that "the counteroffensive is 98% ready", "99%", Ukrainians actually constantly keep Russians in a state of uncertainty. They have to constantly maintain the highest level of readiness, since a counterattack can be inflicted at any moment.
Okay, but then what? What will the Ukrainian side get if the Russian side is "frustrated"? A lot. An opponent in a state of frustration can make mistakes. This is the main purpose of such tactics in armed conflict as well as in sports. When an opponent starts making mistakes, it is much easier to catch him by surprise or even send him to a knockdown.
The latest Ukrainian comment was made today by Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov, who said: "As soon as God's will, the weather and the decision of the commanders, we will do it!"
At today's press conference, he also said that Ukraine is "in a high percentage mode" ready for a counteroffensive. He also noted that the modern weapons received by Ukraine from its Western allies will become a "steel fist" that will break through the enemy's defenses.
As before, all these are just words, and we still do not see any actions. Will something change? For sure, because, as I have already written, Ukraine is simply obliged to do something if it wants to continue the fight, because without an offensive, the support of the West will not last long.
Now, in fact, Ukrainians are playing on their nerves and choosing the most appropriate moment. A psychologically weakened Russia may suffer a serious defeat if the Ukrainian counteroffensive proves to be highly effective. On the other hand, if the wait is too long, the Ukrainian allies will panic, and this will already harm Ukraine itself. In other words, now a lot depends on the choice of the ideal moment.
Readers' comments:
vlamanThese stories about the counteroffensive, in my opinion, are nothing more than stories.
It is normal that the NATO gang led by cowboys do not accept their defeat (they are fighting, not Ukraine, which is simply forced to participate), which is more than obvious. So much laundered money, such consequences of the crisis in Europe, so many weapons in circulation, so much destruction and deaths in Ukraine… And the main instigators stand aside and rub their hands. They will send the infinitely unhappy Ukrainian people to their deaths…
As for Russia, if it wants to finish everything faster, it must act seriously and for sure. Therefore, the current exhaustion and grinding, tactical concessions are creating the basis for some new goals. It is better for them not to rush, but to do everything thoroughly — to the detriment and misfortune of the innocent who are suffering.
zgoljoWhy is Russia psychologically weakened if everything is going well for her?
Sanctions have not broken them, and even on the contrary, de-dollarization is taking its course, they are gradually advancing at the front, and there are fewer and fewer Nazis…
SergejIt seems to me that all these are stories for the public.
Such a narrative ignores the existence of intelligence, satellites, analysts, estimates… It's as if we are talking about a sports competition, and not about a serious game in which the future of the world is at stake.
mementoThe NATO Secretary of State says that Ukraine has everything for the liberation of Crimea.
Only he doesn't explain how to release him. But it doesn't matter to him, because it's not his children, and certainly not Borrel's children, who are sitting in the trenches.
