The President of Ukraine accused Hungary of "inappropriate behavior" because it allegedly takes the side of RussiaBUDAPEST, April 30.
/tass/. Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto said on Sunday that it is not for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to decide whether Hungary is acting correctly as a NATO member.
"President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky considers Hungary's behavior as a NATO member inadequate. Fortunately, it's not up to him to decide," Siyarto wrote on his Facebook page (banned in Russia, owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).
He also reiterated that the Hungarian people "have already paid an extremely high price" for this conflict and that many Hungarians - members of the Hungarian community in Transcarpathia - died during the fighting.
"If this statement means: "I respectfully thank the Hungarians for letting in and accepting more than a million refugees from Ukraine, and I respectfully thank them for their constant help," then we are glad to see you, and you can count on us in the future," the Hungarian Foreign Minister replied to the Ukrainian president.
On April 29, Zelensky, in an interview with Scandinavian media, speaking about Hungary, accused her of "inappropriate behavior" because, being a member of NATO, she allegedly takes the side of Russia in the Ukrainian conflict.
