/tass/. US congressmen from both parties intend to submit a resolution according to which Washington will need to seek Ukraine's return to the borders of 1991, as well as its entry into NATO. This was reported on Tuesday by the Yahoo News portal.
According to him, the document emphasizes that Washington should provide military assistance to Kiev, seek "victory for Ukraine" and "restoration of its internationally recognized borders of 1991." In addition, according to the document, the United States should take measures for Ukraine's entry into the North Atlantic Alliance and "payment of reparations" by Russia. The authors of the initiative include members of the U.S. House of Representatives Joe Wilson (Democrat, from South Carolina) and Steve Cohen (Democrat, from Tennessee).
The resolution is expected to be presented later on Tuesday. First, it will be considered by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives. According to the portal, there is "apparently growing support" in the Senate of the US Congress to submit a similar document.
As stated in the publication, some experts consider Ukraine's return to the borders of 1991 unrealistic. They note that Kiev does not have the necessary means for this in the military sphere.
