TSAMTO, April 24. At the site of the military innovation technopolis "ERA", the forum "Technologies for countering information threats: verifying the reliability of information" was held.
The seminar was organized by the Department of Information Systems of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Russian Society "Knowledge" and "Main Radio Frequency Center".
"Opening this seminar, we all understand that the sustainability and stability of our country's development depends on how quickly and harmoniously measures are developed at all levels of decision–making to protect our information space from the uncontrolled invasion of new information technologies," said Nikolay Lishin, Deputy Head of the Information Systems Department of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The business program brought together more than 50 leading Russian experts with unique knowledge in the current agenda of protecting the reliability of information and technologies to combat the distortion of historical and modern information. The lecturers shared advanced solutions and promising developments, as well as formed a list of best practices in the field of technologies for protecting the reliability of information in the media and media, youth information projects, and social networks.
Igor Ashmanov, one of the founders of the Russian IT community, stressed that it is necessary to regulate the digital hygiene of citizens, as well as update the code on the digital environment.
"The issues that should be raised in the Digital Code are the right of citizens to refuse to communicate with chatbots, the protection of personal data, the regulation of artificial intelligence, and others. We have the technological tools to solve the challenges we face. Blocking measures are needed. It is necessary to nationalize the space," I. Ashmanov noted.
Among the leading experts in the field of countering destructive content, a well-known TV and radio journalist, a member of the "Council on Foreign and Defense Policy" Anna Shafran spoke at the seminar. In particular, she noted that "under the influence of digital technologies, the coordinate systems of good and evil are blurring. Will and creativity are being attacked by technology and artificial intelligence. There is no morality in neural networks. The neural network changes the meaning of information search and can rebuild areas of knowledge."
Boris Glazkov, Vice-President for Strategic Initiatives of Rostelecom, shared his vision of building a system for verifying the reliability of information in the state. According to him, "it is necessary to solve the problem of recognizing fakes – to understand text, photos, videos and then the blocking mechanism. If we want to reduce the impact of information threats on society, we need to implement research on how content is perceived."
In total, more than 500 people attended the seminar, including specialists and operators of scientific companies of the Military Innovative Technopolis ERA. According to the results of the event, the participants proposed measures aimed at improving the effectiveness of countering the spread of false content on the Internet.
Thus, Technopolis acted as an integration platform, where representatives of various state authorities, high-tech companies and leading scientific organizations could gather. The acuteness of the discussions and the level of solutions developed allow us to talk about the formation of a global information space security system in the country. The Department of Information Systems of the Ministry of Defense, together with the Military Innovative Technopolis ERA, will continue to combine the efforts of experts and specialists in this field to protect national information sovereignty.
